| The overall goal of the Family & Community Partnership Service Area is to foster self-sufficiency and independence of the Head Start Families. The emphasis is on empowering and educating the families and individuals by using their own strengths to resolve the conflicts in their lives that can result from environmental pressures. |
The Family & Community Partnership Service Area's emphasis is on fostering Self-Sufficiency by:
- Assuring self-awareness of their strengths and weaknesses
- Sustain pride and self worth
- Preserve family culture
- Obtain coping skills
- Improve ability to identify and assess their needs
- Assert self-sufficiency in all aspect of their lives
